After reading pages 11-29 of Christian Coaching by Gary R. Collins, my new found knowledge brought to me is that Christian Life Coaching is coaching clients to push towards the finish line to achieve their goals that God set for them. Life coaching by itself without the Christian part pushes clients to move forward to what they think they should be doing in life and it may very well be (not) what God has called them to be! This career called Christian Coaching is Popular because it’s one of top ten growing professions (Gary R. Collins, PHD). Coaching is not mentoring as mentors use their life examples to teach but coaches just help the client to invision their futures avoid giving advice but question to motivate. Counseling deals with a person past and helps them to heal but coaching deals with the present and consist of motivating a person to move forward.

For personal Reflection and prayer focus…

Journal and Reflect on These Questions:

How do you think integrating faith into coaching can impact the effectiveness of the coaching relationship?

What ethical considerations do you think are most important for Christian coaches to keep in mind when working with clients?

How can a coach navigate the intersection of a client’s worldview and faith within a coaching session?

In what ways do you think the principles of Christian coaching differ from secular coaching practices?

How can a coach balance their own faith journey with that of their clients in a coaching relationship?
